Frequently asked questions..

Is there a consultation prior to booking a session?
Yes, I will always offer a 10-15 minute free consultation before you decide whether you would like to book. I believe that its really important to find the therapist that best fits you and your needs. I would always try and refer you forward to another counsellor if that is what is required.

What happens at the first session?
Having had a the telephone consultation, I would have sent you an email outlining my practice for you to read through and sign. So at the first session, we will review this document and I will answer any questions you may have. Then the work can begin. It will up to you how you wish to use your time and what you would like to talk about.

How long do sessions last and how often will they be?
Sessions will be 50 minutes long – this is called a therapy hour.

Session usually take place weekly as this is usually the most successful way to overcome your difficulties. However, depending on your need we can arrange a session both weekly or fortnightly. There is also an option to have just one session if that’s all you need.
I would review our work regularly and towards the end of therapy it may be a good idea to phase out the support, and go from weekly to fortnightly to monthly.

What are the fees?
The costs are:
£0 – 15 minute telephone consultation
£50 – 50 Minute session
£80 – Hour and half session
£40 – 50 minute session for concessions and trainee counsellors – subject to availability (proof of low income or training will be required).
